Staff was great and the portions of the food are huge! Go early though as they tend to get busy

Imagine, I have lived here on Oahu my entire life and didn't know this little treasure existed just a hop, skip and jump away from the airport!
Located in the former Holiday Inn at the entrance to the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport, Willoughby's Restaurant is a great place for families and travelers to gather for a some down-home eats.
What stands out even more than the nice variety of menu selections is the way you are greeted and waited on with such friendly, genuine service. Everyone who works there seems like they're very happy doing what they do, and it shows in the way their guests are treated.
While they do not take reservations, I called in advance and spoke with the restaurant manager, Charlene, who told me there would be no problem having our large group come in for dinner the following week.
When I arrived, the host greeted me with a big smile and asked how I had heard of the restaurant. I told him that I saw them on Yelp and was impressed with all the great reviews they had received.
Once everyone in our party had settled in, we ordered everything from their classic loco moco to the pan-fried Atlantic salmon in a delicious butter caper sauce. I love that they serve mashed potatoes as a choice of starch!
You can see from the pictures that Willoughby's offers something for everyone's taste level. The dish that received the most raves in our group was probably the Hawaiian Garlic Shrimp, a generous portion (really, all the portions we received were generous!) of succulent, sautéed shrimp in a garlic sauce topped with sliced jalapeños on a bed of steamed rice. My dad and sister-in-law claimed that it was very delicious and satisfying.
My sister and I had the salmon, which was served with fresh asparagus and a humongous heap of mashed potatoes, yum! My niece was shocked to see the amount of food on her Willoughby's Aloha Platter, a medley of kalbi ribs, chicken katsu (she said it was very crispy and light), furikake mahimahi, seasonal vegetables, kimchi, and rice. It was like two plate lunches in one!
Others had the Reuben sandwich, fish and chips, clubhouse sandwich, kalbi ribs, and hulihuli chicken (special of the day). Our server, Jean'ne told us that they just recently updated their menu, and a menu it is indeed! Daily specials include Chicken Parmesan, Saimin, BBQ Marinated Ribs, and Prime Rib.
If you're near the airport or just want to try a place a little out of the bustling Waikiki or Kakaako scene, try this place for a very relaxed and satisfying meal. OH, and we did a Yelp check-in and received 20% off our entire bill! Woo hoo! -

Love this restaurant! It's very affordable considering the size of their food! It's well worth it. We've been eating here since we got to Hawaii 10 days ago. My husband got a Caesar salad once and it could literally feed 4 people! Their portions are huge! I always take more than half of my food to go. My favorite is their Hawaiin shrimp! Soo good! Definitely grab some dinner here.

I've been coming to this hotel for years but I've never eaten at the restaurant until today. What the hell was I thinking? This cuisine is amazing. I had a Caesar salad to start which was delicious and a pretty hefty portion. Then I ordered a shrimp pasta bake for my main course. Who would've ever thought this small hotels meals where so awesome. I'll definitely be eating again regardless if I stay at this hotel or not!
